ZR 160 3 Dr

Liveupdater.com This is a car born of the night. A pulse-quickening, adrenaline rush-inducing hot hatch.
MG ZR's interior styling sets the tone for an exhilarating driving experience. The cockpit is designed to put the driver in a position of complete control. The famous MG badge sits proudly in the centre of the sports steering wheel, reinforcing the ZR's sporting pedigree. Based on motorsport bucket seats, the innovative front seats keep you in place and in control however hard the car is pushed. A part leather, part alloy gearknob is available. Technical finish fascia inserts, white instrument dials and sports fabric door casings create a purposeful, sporty mood.

Some cars are at home on leisurely Sunday afternoon drives. Others are born for the weekly supermarket trip. Not the MG ZR. While it's perfectly capable of such outings, this is a car born of the night. A pulse-quickening, adrenaline rush-inducing hot hatch. It's hard. Meaty. Visceral. Explosive. It's bold, feisty, outrageous. This isn't a car to simply want. It's a car to lust after. Drive it. Hard.

Brakes
Front Large ventilated disc brakes (282mm)
Rear Large solid disc brakes (260mm)
ABS ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution)

The ABS system has been tuned to deliver maximum braking control. It works in conjunction with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) which equalises braking force across the wheels and ensures you bring the car to a halt in a straight line. The front wheels on MG ZR 120 and ZR 160 have ventilated disc brakes. The ventilated discs, with internal chambers, open at the outer periphery, offer improved performance in comparison to solid discs. When the brakes are used, the friction between the brake disc and brake pad generates heat. The increase in heat energy in the brake disc leads to a temperature increase, which can, under extreme conditions, lead to a reduction in brake performance - 'brake fade'. Due to its additional internal chambers, a ventilated disc has a greater surface area than a solid disc and, consequently, the cooling of a ventilated disc is more effective. Improved braking performance means there's no drama. Just excellent front-to-rear balance and controlled, confident braking - in a straight line.

Handling
Everything about the MG ZR - from the low suspension settings to the sound of the engine - has been engineered to evoke a sense of its proud racing heritage. The ZR's aerodynamic design - its sleek curved shape sits low to the ground - ensures low drag. The front bib spoiler and rear spoiler create increased downforce which delivers enhanced road-holding. Short, stiff springs and sports dampers on the MacPherson strut front suspension equate to a taut, sporty ride. Steering response is sharp. Pitch in acceleration and roll at bends is minimal. The ZR is precise, agile and sure-footed. The 17" sports alloys not only look the part, but they add to the sure, stable ride. And powerful, race-bred brakes on the ZR mean powerful, fade-free stopping ability.

Suspension
The MacPherson strut front suspension is integral to ZR's precise, nimble and obedient ride quality. It incorporates stiff springs and sports dampers for an outstanding roll stiffness and superb body control. The H-frame rear suspension contributes to the invigorating sports car ride. The power assisted steering has been tuned to give excellent steering precision, direct steering feedback with straight line stability and total driver confidence. The thick rim steering wheel provides real sports car feel.
