Genevieve Westcott

Genevieve Westcott is a household name, one of New Zealand's most honoured and distinguished journalists. She has been reporting and hosting prime-time television news and current affairs programmes in New Zealand and Canada since 1989.

She launched her career as a financial reporter for the Vancouver Sun, Western Canada's largest newspaper and at 23, was the youngest editorial page writer ever hired at Vancouver's Province newspaper.

Moving to television, she worked for Canwest Television Network, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and as the West Coast bureau chief and correspondent for CTV National News in Canada. Later she trail blazed her way to CTV Television's W5, Canada's top news magazine programme, as anchor and correspondent.

Within a year of arriving in New Zealand in 1984, she won the first of many national media awards. Reporting for TVNZ's Eyewitness News, news magazine Close Up and 60 Minutes, she has also anchored her own nightly national television programme, TV3's A Current Affair and The Westcott File and worked as a correspondent for 20/20. She has also hosted radio programmes for ZB in Auckland.

She brings credibility, integrity, a passion for excellence and a wealth of experience to the clients who work with her. She is committed to helping individuals and organisations reach their performance goals. An acknowledged expert on the media, she is regularly asked to speak on communication issues. Genevieve brings a creative and informed perspective to her consulting, training and speaking.
