Hamish Carter won Gold at the Athens Olympics in the mens triathlon confirming him as one of the world's most prominent triathletes over the last decade.

Athens was Hamish's second Olympic Games. He was a member of the team that competed in Sydney in 2000 when triathlon was accepted onto the programme for the first time. In 2002 Hamish was also a member of the New Zealand triathlon team at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester where he won a bronze medal

With his breakthrough 3rd placing in the 1993 ITU World Championships, Hamish has rarely finished outside the top 10 in any race he has competed in. A remarkable feat in any sport. This determined Kiwi athlete has held the ITU number 1 world ranking more than any other athlete in the last 4 years.
