Ewen Gilmour

The man known lovingly as "The Westie" who has become one of New Zealand's great comedy icons. His comedy is current and always guaranteed to entertain. Unlike some stand up comedians Ewen is also business friendly.
He's also a city Counsellor.

Ewen Gilmour is the man from out West who has become famous for his "Westie" persona. He has toured New Zealand extensively and produced a number of memorable solo shows including 'Once Were Westies'. He is committed to his community so much so that in October 2004 Ewen the Westie successfully run for Local Government and is now a Waitakerie City Counsellor. And he loves it!

Ewen had 50 jobs before becoming a comedian - from grape pruning to automotive - so he has diverse prior experience to draw from for his material.

He is past winner of the coveted TV2 Billy T Award, and has a string of television and live comedy credits to his name - including Pio, Pulp Comedy, Intrepid Journeys and Celebrity Treasure Island.

He has also performed internationally and was the first New Zealand comedian to appear live at London's famous Jongeurs Comedy Club. He has also appeared in every series of PULP COMEDY TV .

In 2004's Celebrity Treasure Island Ewen appeared with Matthew Ridge, Marc Ellis, Jason Gunn, Michael Laws, Cory Hutchings and Paul Ellis. Enough comedy material here for a lifetime.
