bill POTTER - an extraordinary speaker!

Bill Potter is considered by many to be the best business speaker in New Zealand. His material is always original, timely and inspiring.

Funny_Irreverent_Insightful_Interactive_Different

Bill Potter has been described as "Different, Irreverent, Insightful, Interactive and Funny" and that was by his kindergarten teacher! And Bill is all of those things and more.

Just to give you some idea of what we mean Bill spent the first 3 years of his life as a POW. In July 2009 he refereed his 1,069th rugby game. He has travelled to 57 countries spreading his maverick message to go -getters looking for "difference.

One CEO put it this way in describing Bill;

"He is amazing! His ideas are so good that we changed the way we did business next day. And we loved his humour"

Bill's mantra is simple… "I CAN UNTIL I CAN’T!"

Bill can get you looking at your business very differently.

You see Bill uses humour and props to emphasise one very simple point - "You can until you can't". While most people and organisations doubt their ability to grow and be more successful Bill's philosophy turns this around. Add persistence and you have a strong combination for change and growth.

Bill has a list of things that you don't want to hear in your business;

"We don't do it that way here"
"That will never work here"
"We've always done it this way"
"Our customers won't like it"
"Why should we change?"
"Let's wait 30 years and see if it works"

He says "if you hear any of these break the glass then call me very quickly!"

The greatest hindrance to creativity and progress, is the ‘same old, same old’ (no change, no change) factor. This is true for your personal life, relationships and business. It is not about your ‘comfort zone’. It’s about your ‘status zone’. For starters, you must clear ‘olde fartitus’ an attitude disease, defined as Getting stuck in the past doing things that used to work.

Enter Bill Potter. Most people might describe him as a ‘lateral thinker’, helping people think ‘outside the square’, and other ho-hum cliché’s. Bill does better than that. He invites you to ‘venture beyond the cube’. He says; don’t just work harder and smarter… work differently!

In the corporate world, Bill has made a difference as an innovative management thinker. He initiated the worldwide training structure, the JCI Training Institute, for Junior Chamber International, based in the USA. He has held senior marketing roles in the USA and with key New Zealand corporates.

Bill doesn't know the meaning of "NO"; come to think of it there are a number of words Bill doesn't know the meaning of, but No is one of them!

The "They said he couldn't - but he did" category

He led a worldwide project reaching 12+ million children, from Miami.
He had a private meeting with Mother Teresa.
Was an "accidental" bodyguard to a king.
Brought a passenger jetliner back to the gate.
Impersonated Fidel Castro in Florida.
Does keynote presentations from a coffin.

Bill is in demand as a keynote speaker, helping corporates operate more effectively, while having more fun doing it. He backs it up with real evidence and provides models that can change things.

Feedback confirms that Bill has initiated change in many places. He does it all with his warped sense of humour. Bill was once described as, ‘a stand-up comedian with a personal growth and business dynamics sideline’.

His theme is always ‘A Maverick look at your situation’. He stopped talking long enough to write a powerfully funny book titled ‘Mind Your Own Damn Business!’ It has been described as ‘New Zealand's Own Chicken Soup for the Soul’ described by a leading business editor as, ‘having a go-getter approach that provides a healthy antidote to the jargon-riddled academic tomes, that often pass for management books’. This book was chosen in the top book list for new millennium holiday reading in New Zealand. The country's leading book retailers refused to stock it. So his first effort became a "banned book". He is currently writing additional business dynamics and human accomplishment literature.
