Charlotte Dawson

Charlotte Dawson left New Zealand at the age of 16 to model in Europe and with the Ford Model Agency in NewYork. A decade later saw her relocate to Australia where she became a familiar face on television and the fashion world.

Back in Australia in 1997, Charlote started working, as Beauty and Fashion Director for "Woman’s Day” and soon after became Style Editor for “New Idea” magazine. 2000 saw Charlotte become the face of the Morrissey fashion label, presenting her own fashion segment weekly on GMA for Network Ten, and featuring in the fashion section of Sydney’s’ Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Charlotte was also Patron of Kids Living With Aids.

Whilst working for the top Australian agencies Cameron's and Priscilla's as an agent, she decided to try her hand at TV. She landed a job as researcher at Channel Nine and worked on programs such as "Money" and "Looking Good". Shortly after she became fashion editor the network's "Today" program for which she filed weekly reports on local and international fashion news & presented a round up of events that had occurred within the industry that week. Magazine's such as "Vogue", "Elle", "She", "Dolly", "Cleo" and "Mode" tracked Charlotte's progress, featuring her in fashion spreads and often sought her opinion on fashion issues.

With many appearances as a celebrity model at fashion shows, regular appearances on "The Footy Show", a spot guest fashion commentator for "Wide World of Sport's" and several hosting and MC jobs at media events, Charlotte became commercial television's unofficial face of fashion. As well as travelling extensively gathering local stories, she files reports on fashion shows from NewYork, which she still regularly visits.

In 1997 she started working as Beauty and Fashion Director for "Woman's Day" and soon after became Style Editor for "New Idea" magazine. She was the fashion correspondent for Channel Ten's entertainment programme "E! News" and also a regular panellist on the network's hit daytime show, "Beauty and the Beast" and guest on "Bourke's Backyard" and Nines' "Simply The Best".

In 2000 Charlotte became the face of the Morrissey fashion label, presenting her own fashion segment weekly on GMA for Network Ten, featuring in the fashion section of Sydney's Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, continue her work as the Patron of Kids Living With Aids, as well as her role as panellist on "Beauty and The Beast" and Style Editor of "New Idea" magazine.

Charlotte completed her theatrical debut, starring in the production of "Girls Night Out" at Star City Casino in Sydney in 2000. The first quarter of 2001 saw Charlotte introduce her own column for NW magazine, Dawson's Week, before again treading the boards with Rowena Wallace and Judy Nunn in the highly respected "Vagina Monologues".

In 2002 Charlotte returned home to Auckland where she picked up on her television career from the other side of the Tasman.
